6. The separate pieces are then basted together for
the first fitting with white threads. |
7. In the first fitting, you shall see the fabric
you have chosen taking shape as a suit. This would be an exciting
moment for you to examine yourself in that suit and actually
feel how it fits. At this stage, changes can be made as required.

8. After the first fitting the garment is completely
taken apart to incorporate changes in drafting and cutting.
The updated pieces of the suit shall return to the tailor
for sewing and a meticulous hand-craft process will begin. |
9. Inner linning canvas, cotton ,felt or horsehair
are sewn onto the fabric with countless small hand stitches
to give the suit its shape. In mass garment production interfacings
are normally glued into place so the process requires less
time ,effort and techniques. However ,the result is nowhere
near as good as the work done by hand here.
